Decentral Games

To add utility to existing Crown holders and to add incentive to earn one of the remaining Scepters we should assign Decentral Games Voting Power to them.

There were concerns and call-outs around the original ratio of VP between Crowns and Scepters at 50k and 10k respectively. This would have resulted in Crown owners (who all have access to acquiring a scepter without contest) would end up with 60k VP to the Scepter owner’s 10k, while requiring the same requirements to earn mechanically in the game’s design.

UPDATED NUMBERS: Crown - 30k Voting Power Scepter - 15k Voting Power

This reduces the total amount of VP a Crown owner would receive from 60k to 45k, while boosting Scepter VP by 50%. The increase in Scepter VP also allows for future items to have some VP, while still reducing the amount, so a 3rd, 4th and 5th item could have 10k, 5k, and 2.5k (a note someone else presented to future proof the idea).

DILUTION:

It should be noted this change will increase the total amount of new VP from 10,000,000 to 10,500,000.

Some have brought up concerns over the dilution of Voting Power for what they perceive as no benefit to Decentral Games or existing xDG holders.

There are 1-billion xDG, currently the single source of Voting power within the DAO. 10.5-million is 1.5% of the total existing Voting power.

BENEFITS: By introducing people to DAO governance with an item that isn’t xDG that they can’t dump, this idea can only benefit existing xDG holders.

Either a user receives the xDG for the item, and continues to not participate in governance, OR they get a taste for DAO-based democracy and begin to build a position of xDG so they can propose their own ideas and have their voice heard.

PRIORITY: Implementation of this idea should not come before any existing Roadmap items unless it can be done without effecting anything else.
