Lower VP Threshold for POI (Point of Interest) to 500K VP

Summary

Unless we lower the VP threshold to levels attainable by the existing user base, we will be unable to identify and remove dead POIs easily, and it will hurt the retention of new users as they struggle to identify places to explore.

Abstract

We need the ability to effectively add and remove POIs,

It would require funding development to implement VP thresholds that are adjusted based the amount of VP participating, so until there is a functioning dao team funding updates, this is the most practical solution.

Motivation

There are people who have proposed having their own POIs removed for one reason or another that have not been able to get their POI removed.

Active places that have hosted weekly events for over a year have struggled to get POIs.

The DAO needs to be able to effectively curate the POIs

Specification

Reduce the POI voting threshold to 500k

Impacts

POIs will be able to be created and removed by the community.

Implementation Pathways

Gino, HP, or whoever manages the governance website, now that the Goverance Squad is unfunded will update the variable that dictates VP.

Conclusion

Hopefully Esteban doesn’t let his contempt for me prevent him from supporting this idea and we can get 6 million VP in the final round so in the future we only need 500k to remove POIs
