Overview

We are proposing a budget of 10ETH for season 3. Additionally, our plan is to supplement that with some amount of DAO Master native token, exact amount TBD pending the details of our new token launch plan.

The proposed timing of S3 will be 6 weeks, from 1/31/2022 through 3/11/2022.

Budget Allocation

We are proposing allocating out total budget of 10 ETH across our working groups as follows:

• Partnerships: 1.5 ETH (15%)
• Tokenomics: 2 ETH (20%)
• Research: 2 ETH (20%)
• Community Ops: 1 ETH (10%)
• Editorial: 1 ETH (10%)
• Marketing: 0.5 ETH (5%)
• DMGs: 1 ETH (10%)
• Community Fund: 1 ETH (10%)

As mentioned above, we have not yet finalized the details regarding our new DAO Masters token. However, we are proposing distributing the compensation budget we end up deciding on as follows:

• Partnerships: 12.5%
• Tokenomics: 16.67%
• Research: 16.67%
• Community Ops: 8.33%
• Editorial: 8.33%
• Marketing: 4.17%
• DMGs: 25%
• Community Fund: 8.33%

Considerations

• The community fund is intended to give us a reserve of funding to use to compensate contributors who have done work that has added value to DAO Masters, but was not in the original scope of the season.
• Allocation of budgets within working groups is to be allocated on a team by team basis. The DMGs + Project Leads will work on setting up transparent guidance regarding what this will look like for each work group.
• Tool reviews budget is bundled within the research group.
• The compensation for partnerships is intended to compensate contributors for the behind the scenes work of getting our partnership workflow off the ground this season. Any contributors staffed on actual projects can expect additional compensation for that work.
• Each working group will be expected to come up with a set of deliverables, to be agreed upon by the community.

If you would like to approve this budget allocation for season 3, please vote ‘Approve.’ If the vote gets approved, we will have officially kicked off Season 3!

If you are not happy with the proposed budget allocation, please vote ‘Reject.’ If the vote is rejected, we will follow up with the community in the s3-planning channel on discord to discuss what amendments should be made to the proposal, before posting an updated Snapshot vote.
