Builder DAO

tl;dr

This is a proposal to extend the BuilderDAO prop house rounds for Ideas are Valuable (x3 Rounds) and Custom DAO Infrastructure (x 1 Winner) and to keep the momentum going into the new year: The Year of the Builder.

Ideas are Valuable

‘Ideas are Valuable’ has been the most popular round by far and it has served a dual purpose of helping to generate great ideas and it has also been great advertising for BuilderDAO. 

Many people have been drawn to BuilderDAO specifically by this round and so I think that by continuing it for the remaining 3 prop house rounds we can get further exposure for the DAO while generating even more great ideas for how to expand the product. 

The large bounty (2 x 5 eth) given in the round is good and I would recommend we keep that in order to maximize the amount of entries. But I would recommend that if this proposal passes we refine the scope of the ideas in the subsequent rounds around specific but still broad areas. 

For example (these are examples and can be changed):

• 2 x 5 Eth for ideas on how to improve the Builder product
• 2 x 5 Eth for ideas around new DAO concepts 
• 2 x 5 Eth for ideas to improve design/UI/UX

Total Cost to extend the Ideas are Valuable Round: 30 Eth

Custom DAO Infrastructure Round

I also propose we extend the ‘Custom DAO Websites’ round to include 1 more winner in a separate round. Reviewing the entries for this round has shown that there are multiple approaches and ideas that have been brought and I think having one more round with one winner will help to turbo charge the development of Builder infrastructure. 

I would recommend this round be slightly more broad and name it the ‘Custom DAO Infrastructure’ Round - it might not be an easy to deploy website that we need but something else (e.g. another website builder, different tooling, layer2 infra or aggregation or something else). 

This extra website/infrastructure round can be put in Week 2 or 3 at the discretion of the team/multisig. 

Total Cost to extend the Custom Website Round: 25 Eth

Total Cost of Proposal: 55 Eth
