Community Resident (3mo. extension)

This proposal is for continuation of the BuilderDAO Community Resident (Prof Werder) for April, May and June 2023.

BuilderDAO is at a critical juncture. We have a fractured community that has been through some challenges. BUT the potential is enormous. Looking ahead, in addition to maintenance of the discord, Town Halls, and Twitter Spaces, I’ll be focusing on the following:

• Oversee the implementation of Roko into BuilderDAO discord with NounsAI to add FAQ support and summaries. I am working with Steve and Alx on this as part of their beta test so we will also be supplying feedback.
• Launch Builder Nouncil (or name TBD) and get them on a path to assist with feedback, communication to Nounish DAOs and governance of BuilderDAO.
• Work on utilizing BuilderBox content better via edited clips for social media and podcast content. And use this platform and others to highlight Nounish DAOs.
• Assist other core contributors with a BuilderDAO Hack Week and/or infinite rounds prop house. This is currently under development and will need support and promotion for success.
• Add Prop Lot as an idea generation temp check and location outside discord for discussions as another decentralized touchpoint.
• Design a DAO Incubator for nounish DAOs with the input of Builder Nouncil Reps.
• Work with BuilderDAO members to determine if a Small Grants team is warranted and if so, to assist in implementing that.
• Seek out opportunities to showcase Nouns Builder at IRL events (e.g. Farcon - in talks now)
• As Zora implements a new support system for Nouns Builder, ensure a smooth transition and that any gaps are filled.
• Assist with designs for a Community Tools website.
• Review previously funded props and ping for updates if needed.

These goals align with what I’ve already accomplished during April which included:

• Management of the Builder Community discord, including implementation of a support ticket system, management and recording of town halls, creating channels for prop discussions and idea generation, and fostering DAO conversations.
• Organizing and attending the BuilderDAO NYC Bagels & Builders meetup. This event was also recorded for BuilderBox twitter spaces. It was great gathering and hope to assist with more. (see pix here: https://twitter.com/ProfWerder/status/1647547986216353792?s=20I ) also discussed Nouns Builder and BuilderDAO with numerous people during my time at NFT.NYC.
• Weekly BuilderBox Twitter Spaces covering the activities of Nounish DAOs, BuilderDAO props and interviews with interesting and helpful experts, providing the only consistent outreach.
• Added and will be building @BuilderBoxShow on Twitter for additional reach.
• Working with Adel from Lil Nouns to implement Prop Lot into BuilderDAO as an idea generation tool and temp check. This will also eliminate duplicate discussion channels in discord.
• Working with NounsAI team (Steve in particular) on implementing Roko for FAQ’s about Nouns and working towards training on Nouns Builder questions as well. We will be in beta on this for a bit but this will help alleviate some of the workload on both me and the support team. We also tried Roko for town hall recording but voice recording is not going to be supported moving forward so we will continue with Craig.
• Establishing a Builder Nouncil and seeking one representative from each active DAO launched via Nouns.Build to increase communication between BuilderDAO and the DAOs built on Nouns Builder. I will also be delegating one of my tokens to this council. This will be the initial launch and we’ll accept applications through April 30 and the first monthly voice chat on Thursday May 4 at 4 pm eastern (before BuilderDAO town hall). • Working with JoelCares to implement Nermanbot for Builder Nouncil Voting. Again, this is a bit of a beta test since it will be one of the early implementations outside Nouns Nouncil. Also acquired BuilderNouncil.eth which can be used for token delegation if desired.
• Bought and directed BuilderDAO’s auction page to: BuilderDAOAuction.wtf
• Assisted and answered questions for multiple people with ideas around DAOs. Hoping a DAO incubator can help with this as well.
• Numerous dm’s and discussions around how to move forward in a positive direction, including working on communication, tone, etc among members.
• Met with Patti Hausmann, a consultant brought in by Zora to assist with future direction and will be meeting with her weekly. Initial discussions are around community building and communication.
• Proposed and passed the Prop House Reset prop.

Although we have had quite a few challenges, I am still passionate about BuilderDAO’s mission, which is prominent in the about section at BuilderDAOauction.wtf:

Builder DAO is dedicated to the creation and development of free and accessible DAO infrastructure as a public good.

If we keep this as a north star moving forward, I believe we still have an opportunity for big impact.
