This addendum to BIP-71 proposes fixing all round start and end times to 16:00 CET. The adjustment aims to enhance platform maintenance efficiency, align critical milestones with the working hours of platform contributors based in Europe, and avoid disruptions from daylight savings transitions.

Voting Options

This proposal uses basic voting format with the following choices:

1. For: Approve adjusting round start and end times to 16:00 CET.
2. Against: Retain the current schedule for round start and end times.

Rationale

Currently, round transitions often fall outside optimal European working hours for Botto platform contributors. This creates challenges for bug fixes and smooth implementation of changes, which often occur at the start or end of a round. Fixing round times to 16:00 CET:

• Aligns better with the working hours of Botto’s platform and art engine contributors in Europe.
• Avoids the confusion caused by daylight savings adjustments in different regions.
• Maintains consistency for contributors without significantly impacting voter participation or auction schedules.

Proposal Specifications

1. Rounds will now start and end at 16:00 CET.
2. The 16:00 CET timing will remain fixed year-round, ensuring clarity and avoiding daylight savings discrepancies.
3. The voting interface will be updated to clearly display round timing in CET and equivalent times in other major time zones for user clarity.

Criteria of Success

• Smoother transitions during round changes, with fewer platform-related issues reported.
• Positive feedback from contributors about improved alignment with their working hours.
• Minimal impact on voter participation metrics or auction schedules.
