FUNDING HALO EU TEAM TO CHARLOTTE LAN
PROLOGUE
Halo Infinite Year Two has started and we've learned a lot from our time representing players in the scene last year. Mainly, we over-leveraged our support and did way too much without a solid process. Despite those challenges, we did build a lot of great relationships and built some great memories along the way.
With that being said, we've gotten some interest from previous players to support them in the upcoming LAN event for Halo Infinite. The first LAN of the season is often the biggest with fans pouring in from all over the world to see their teams duke it out on the main stage or go to war in the open bracket. Based on the changes this year, it's more important than ever to shine a light on the best talent from EU / MX / ANZ and we are one of the best newer orgs to bring awareness and support to those regions.

THE PROPOSAL
Sponsor 6th Seed Team to Charlotte LAN
The team lead by three of our previous members LUNNY, TURK, and RIOTZ placed top 6 in the online qualifier before LAN. This means they did not earn travel + lodging for LAN. This team has solid placement in the Open Bracket increasing the chance to secure one of 4 open bracket spots to compete in Pool Play.
THE ASK
Because they don't have lodging or travel covered, our cost would be as follows:
- Team Pass: $250 USD
- Travel for 5: Avg flight from LDN to CLT = $847 USD
- Lodging for 5: $1350 USD
For a total of 4 ETH (3.6 ETH base / 0.4 ETH buffer when booking). Any funds not needed will be returned to the treasury.
GOALS
- Reaching Pro Pool Play (TOP 16)
- Making championship bracket (TOP 12)
- Develop content with pro team
- Develop content about the event
ABOUT THE EVENT
Charlotte LAN is the first of 3 MAJOR events in the Halo Championship Series (HCS). Each MAJOR brings all of the best global talent to compete for $250,000. The top 16 teams play in Pool Play, a group stage event that is a primary portion of the broadcast before moving to the Championship Bracket, a high stakes double elimination phase culminating in a grand final to crown the winner of the event.
PLAYER HISTORY
Lunny and Riotz have teamed together since 2016 earning their spot at four Halo World championships as well as collectively 13 different international events. Riotz has notably been competing since 2010 and has represented some of the biggest British organizations in history such as Fnatic, Dignitas, TCM Gaming, Vexed Gaming and exceL Gaming. After a brief hiatus from their partnership and some unexpected performances in season 1 of Halo Infinite. They have now decided to reform their partnership and create a team capable of competing with the best teams not only in Europe but Globally.
With that in mind the team recruited Kimbo, who boasts the highest European placement at an international event of (top6) from his time with previous team Navi (@Natusvincere) and Hollers who is a veteran player having competed since 2015 and participating in 5 international tournaments. Due to uncontrollable circumstances this team only formed on the day prior to the qualifying tournament so was unable to practice as a team in preparation.
Even with the enormous deficit playing versus practiced teams the team showed what they are capable of narrowly losing to Wreckers and Employed 1-2 and with practice we know we are capable of beating anybody who gets in our way at the event.
