Summary: Add “Safisynai” to the BFC in anticipation of the removal of current BFC members

Quorum Note: Quorum is 35% of total outstanding Stalk participating in the vote.

Background: According to Beanstalk Farms governance, at least 3 BFC members will control Beanstalk Farms. Accordingly, there are current proposals to remove the current BFC members due to lack of communication and replace them.

Proposal: In anticipation of the removal of the current BFC members, we are proposing to add “Safisynai” as a BFC member to help transition the new members of the BFC that will be elected. If “Safisynai” does not accept the nomination, we will propose another active member of the community. Considering “Safisynai” is an active member and a “delegate” of stalk, we see no issue in he/him accepting.

Safisynai Background and Delegate Summary "I have a strong commitment to decentralisation and open source, and I’ve been in the Ethereum space since the 2016/2017 ICO era. Transparency, digital rights (privacy, data ownership, opposition to DRM & TPM, continued public accessibility of general purpose computation, and intellectual property reform just to name a few) and civil liberties (in particular anti-censorship and freedom of expression in a world increasingly dominated by centralised, corporate-aligned closed platforms & data silos; my commitment to both decentralisation & open source is a natural outcome of these beliefs) are extremely important issues to me, so much so that I was once (several years ago now, my involvement fell by the wayside over the years due to career commitments, and later, health issues) an officer of Pirate Party Australia who, while largely unsuccessful electorally, nonetheless advocated for these causes in Australia’s political sphere.

I’ve been a part of the Beanstalk community since late September of 2021, learning of the project via Olympus’ #off-topic channel, during the aftermath of the early pump & dump. The project’s community, whitepaper, and critically, its commitment to decentralisation convinced me to sow back then, when the Bean price was around $0.3 and temperature (“weather” back then!) was around 500%, re-sowing my pods at maturity for a greater amount of pods that I still hold to this day. I also participated in the Barn Raise as much as my financial circumstances have allowed, and have recently purchased an Unripe LP position via an OTC trade. I still hold these positions and have no intention of leaving any time soon!

I wish to be a delegate as I am committed to the long-term future and health of Beanstalk as both a system and a community, and I believe my technical background, my understanding of the project, and my ongoing engagement with the project & community has and will continue to aid me in voting in accordance with the long-term best interests of the system & community alike. As part of this, I recognise that our present quorum requirements present somewhat of a challenge given the presently reduced levels of engagement; as such I feel a delegate system is well warranted to allow those who do not have the capacity or inclination to remain adequately informed and engaged to nonetheless participate indirectly in governance. I believe my background and principles alike make applying to be a delegate not simply tenable, but a matter of civic responsibility."

Rationale: Need a more transparent group of BFC members to keep the community engaged. Currently all timelines and project updates are discussed behind closed doors.

Payment: No payment until there is an independant group of at least 3 new BFC members. Payment will be contingent on the success of the protocol ie BEAN utility, increase in liquidity, partnerships with other protocols, etc.
