Hello frens,

We’ve been blown away and deeply humbled by all the enthusiasm and support for Gotchi Battler over the last few weeks. We’re starting this proposal to deliver on the promise of evolving protocol rewards through the addition of Gotchi Battler as a staple of our Rarity Farming seasons going forward.

The proposed changes to Rarity Farming Rewards are:

In line with the original Gotchi Battler proposal [AGIP 86] to gamify protocol rewards, we wish to reallocate 20% from the BRS leaderboard to Gotchi Battler Tournaments each season going forward. Gotchi Battler was designed with this exact purpose in mind to carry on the meta of the BRS leaderboard as much as possible whilst also providing a more engaging and competitive experience for players.

Why not fund Gotchi battler tournaments outside of RF? At this point in time, when there is no significant revenue being generated by the DAO, it would not be prudent to increase our yearly reward spend of 4.5M GHST any further. Instead, we should be looking to make better use of the money we are already spending to further engage existing community members and attract new users to the ecosystem. As well as that, using the regular and predictable cadence of rewards from Rarity Farming seasons ensures the future health of Gotchi Battler and gives buyers and renters confidence to invest for the game.

Will this lower my RF rewards? Gotchi Battler aims to carry on the meta of the BRS leaderboard as much as possible. However, there is an element of skill and luck involved. Due to this, you may end up earning more or less rewards than the BRS leaderboard depending on your luck/skill but on average you should earn an equivalent amount. If you don’t have 5 gotchis to enter a team you can either rent gotchis for your team or lend yours out at a much higher rate than usual during the tournament.

What happens if this prop doesn’t pass? If the proposal doesn’t pass it means 2 things. Firstly, that Gotchi Battler as a project has failed to achieve it’s main objective, meaning it would either have to source extra reward funds at huge expense to the DAO/rewards wallet, or go back to the drawing board. Secondly, if a game that the DAO funded to gamify Rarity Farming isn’t voted to do so then it’s safe to assume that Rarity Farming as an entity will continue to go in its current form. The benefit in this scenario is that DAO discussion and resources can now shift to other areas, understanding that the current rewards paradigm is staying fixed for the foreseeable future.
