Background

Following Pixelcraft’s decision to sunset Geist and the open vote to migrate Aavegotchi from Polygon to Base, plans for a new GOTCHI token have also been cancelled.

The original intention for the GOTCHI campaign was to gradually phase out the Alchemica and GLTR tokens over 18 months and replace them with the simpler GOTCHI token.

With plans for GOTCHI token scrapped, we believe it is best to continue the campaign to simplify the Aavegotchi ecosystem by gradually sunsetting Alchemica and GLTR. As an incentive to do so, we propose replacing GOTCHI token rewards with GHST rewards.

Thus, we propose that GOTCHI Points Season 1 should conclude on Geist 1 week from the passing of this Coreprop. Following the conclusion of Szn1, Geist will wind down within one week.

Season 1 of GOTCHI Points campaign was scheduled to distribute 25% of the total GOTCHI tokens. The Gotchiverse Player Rewards wallet contains 3.2M GHST. We conclude that 400.000 GHST is appropriate reward for players.

(Note: The proposal to allocate GHST for Season 2 and beyond for GOTCHI points campaign or for other campaigns (GBS) will be made shortly after the conclusion of Season 1, or after the protocol moves to Base (up-to-vote), allowing the ecosystem time to course-correct if needed.

For Season 2 going forward, there is a plan to introduce Land burn with GLTR incorporated, introduce burn multipliers to leaderboard, and sunset the Gotchi Wheel in favor of direct Alchemica rewards.

Failure Case

If this proposal is not successful, the GOTCHI Points campaign will be cancelled and all burned Alchemica returned to their original owners on Polygon. Pixelcraft Studios will leave 2 weeks for assets to be bridged out of Geist, and then Geist will be terminated. All user tokens (GHST and USDC) that have not already been bridged back will be manually returned to users on Base.
